Pros: Design, Battery Life, Screen Size, Durability, Weight, Keyboard, Features, Security
I was looking for a laptop that was thin & light and had S-video and HDMI output. This was the only one I found that fit the bill as most manufacturers are switching exclusively to HDMI output, a move which is premature in my opinion.
The laptop is very light (about 4lbs) and the fact that you get a 14 inch screen is an extra bonus. The screen is very bright, and has 8 levels of brightness control. I hardly ever use it at maximum brightness.
The speakers are one complaint: at maximum sound volume the audio sounds harsh and a bit tinny. I use ear buds or headphones as necessary.
Battery life seems excellent, although I normally use A/C power. The keyboard is excellent, One quibble the FN-key is half-width, which is irritating since it's the only half-width key on the whole keyboard. But apart from the keys are pretty much full-size and the keyboard seem as good as Thinkpad keyboards, which are generally considered to set the standard.
The laptop does not come pre-installed with a lot of bloatware which was a relief. Although this was my first experience using Vista, it's been trouble-free except for a few irritants like having to configure it so that the "Run" menu shows up and learning where control panels have moved.
HDMI output is excellent, although I quickly realized for saving multiple display configurations that the "Fujitsu Display Manager" does not do as good a job as the "Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver".
Overall, the S6520 exceeded my expectations in every category.
