Third Fujitsu Lifebook
Date:July 25, 2011
Pros: Weight, Design, Durability, Keyboard
Cons: Battery Life
I just purchased the newly introduced Lifebook S761 laptop. This is the third S series Lifebook I have purchased for my business. The business involves travelling to and evaluting mining projects in all corners of the world and the laptops need to be light, rugged and reliable. Lifebooks have delivered on all three counts. Despite all the wear and tear, I have only had to use the 3 year international warranty once and have had 6 years service from my first Lifebook.

Building on a Good Thing

Pros: Weight, Design, Durability, Battery Life, Screen Size
Cons: Keyboard
I purchased a Fujitsu s761 last month, my fourth Fujitsu laptop in the last ten years. This latest purchase has met and exceeded my expectations. All of the features that make me a committed Fujitsu user are there and more. It is light, it is rugged, it is very fast (I went for the i7 version) and it is user friendly. It how has a camera which is a plus for me. Service is important, and because I live in Hawaii, less than stellar with many vendors. I noticed a tiny defect in the screen of my s761, and decided to return it under warranty. They gave me a FedEx label, tracked it, gave me a repair date, called me to confirm and sent it back repaired. I am impressed. The only thing missing on Fujitsu laptops is the option of back lighting of the keys. That would be very helpful for me in some of my travel destinations. This is a great product for the traveler, but very convenient when coupled with the port replicator and a big screen for office use. I love this machine!

S761
Date:November 16, 2011
Pros: Design, Security, Durability, Battery Life, Features, Keyboard, Screen Size
I have been notebook computing since they first became available. My early machines used Floppy Drives, to give perspective on time. I have had several Fujitsu machines over time. This is CLEARLY the best yet.
The Screen is great, clear and easily viewed even at odd angles.
The feature set is Fabulous, it even includes a "PC Card" Slot, permitting me to use an express memory card I haven't been able to use in my past 3 machines.
The only issue I have had is with the Biometric reader, created by one of the Msoft updates.
Due to the size of the memory and hardrive I am able to have Multiple applications running simultaneously and with the speed of the processor everything is instantaneous.
The keyboard is a real pleasure to use and I find I can type faster on this machine than several of my previous machines (nice job).
The SD slot is on the front of the machine, nice touch, and it installs flush permitting one to carry it installed without concern of bumping it or ejecting it!
Finally, the machine offers the "Fujitsu Option" of a muti-use bay permitting (2) batteries to be installed offering extended battery life.
I don't use this phrase often, but I love this machine........

Lifebook Rocks
Date:July 30, 2011
Pros: Weight, Battery Life, Keyboard, Screen Size
Cons: Features
This is the 2nd Lifebook PC I've owned. The first so exceeded expectations that when it came time to replace it I had no hesitation in purchasing another.
Light, fast, great keyboard and excellent battery life; this thing is a winner. Only a few nit picks.
It's pricey, get over it, You get what you pay for.
Second, Fujitsu should have kept the toggle up/down button under the touch pad between the left and right click buttons. I have no clue which designer thought that a counter intuitive circular motion on a separate pad was the way to scroll through document pages but he should be out of a job.
Lastly, from my previous experience, the power cord receptacle sees a ton of use and needs to be more robust. I had to send my last Lifebook back to the factory twice to get this area repaired. Knowing this, I will be more attentive this time around when plugging and unplugging my machine from the power source.

S760 mostly plus
Date:May 27, 2011
Pros: Weight, Design, Durability, Battery Life, Features, Keyboard, Screen Size
Cons: touch pad and wheel pad
Replaced my S6210 after 5+ years of service, with S760 trying to find similar machine. Generally like it very much. A few changes that I don't like. Hate the new touch pad and wheel pad. I really liked the small toggle (scroll up and down) in the middle of the S6210 touch pad. Would give the S760 all excellent marks except for the touch pad -- which is, very sadly, a constant irritant.
