Cons: fan noise, only 2 usd port, speaker not loud enough and covered in table mode
I own a (old) Fujitsu S6210, a new TH700 and the T2020 which I’m going to review here. The main attraction of the T2020 is clear : stellar and responsive screen, portability and battery life. Because of the viewangle of the screen it is easy to share content with colleagues. The fact that the screen can swivel in both direction is great (being left-handed I like such ambidexterity). The clarity and viewangle are much better, in my opinion, than the other Tablet PC I have seen and than the majority other laptops I’ve used, including Apple's. The battery (extended) allows a full day of work without needing the power cord. The build is solid and professional and don't have the shiny plastic feel of HP or Dell's. Its an ideal and reliable laptop to travel with. The T2020 comes with good quality screen-protectors.
It is a product comparable to the Lenovo X200T, which has some extra features and connectivity but a less impressive screen. Little extra on the Lenovo are a textured extended battery, which makes it very easy to hold in tablet mode, and a real lock when the screen closes in both laptop and tablet mode. The T2020 screenlock mecanism is loose. However the T2020 is lighter and smaller than the Lenovo X200T, and the durability of Fujitsu components is, in my opinion, better. The compromise needed for great battery life is clear : the T2020 feels somewhat underpowered. The ULEV processor and intel graphics run smoothly on everyday tasks but wont perform is you happen to need some 3D capabilities. Another criticism of this laptop is something I really did not expect : the noise emitted by the fan. The noise makes it hard to use the tablet in a silent conference room to take notes. I decided not to use it for this purpose anymore if the room is very quiet. I do, however, I use the tablet very often to give presentation since it is a very useful didactic tool. If it was not for this flaw, I would have rated this laptop 5 stars.
Overall I would readily recommend the T2020, yet I'm hoping for a software/BIOS fix of the fan controller.
I bought this tablet to replace my beloved T4215, which fell down and broke. It cost a fortune and I am very disappointed. The cons: 1) The pointing stick is difficult to use, with a response that borders on random at times. 2) The pen literally cannot be calibrated, which means it cannot be used as a mouse in place of the pointing stick and renders it pretty much useless as a tablet. 3) The speaker is almost impossible to hear unless you hold it to your ear in a quiet room. Forget about trying to listen to music or a video on this thing - truly unacceptable. 4) The fingerprint sensor is way too touchy - much more so that my old one. The pros: 1) Nice big screen. 2) It's fast. 3) Looks cool. 4) The 9-cell battery lasts all day. 5) Lightweight. Conclusion: I hate this computer. I could have spent $1000 less and skipped the features that don't work.

This Tablet packs a punch
Date:August 3, 2009
Pros: Design, Battery Life, Screen Size, Weight, Features
The T2020 Is amazing. Besides meeting all of my needs in being a tablet alone, it surprises with great performance, taking account the fact that it is so mobile. The small screen and great handwriting recognition makes taking notes in a classroom, or using it on the go very easy. Quite lightweight, this notebook goes wherever I do. Although obviously not a gaming laptop, or at all meant for memory sapping, high performance, it does very well with graphic design programs, excelling with the tablet functionality. Using the T2020 with high quality audio interfacing devices is perfect. The notebook is both fast enough to run top recording software as well as handling multiple simultaneous channel inputs. Overall, this pc isn't a powerhouse, but considering the incredible mobility and lightweight compact frame, it surprises with a processor fast enough to allow for application more than just the typical word processing of a bare-bones pc. This little tablet packs quite the punch

Powerhouse, but the screen is a bit lacking...
Date:June 24, 2009
Pros: Battery Life, Weight, Keyboard
Cons: Screen Size, screen quality
This computer hasn't lagged or died on me at all, and I've been running multiple graphics programs simultaneously. It's surprisingly powerful.
Its speaker is far too small and it's difficult to hear voices speaking softly through it when the volume is maxed out. Also, the screen itself is hard to look at close up.
I'm a bit disappointed with the screen - it's like looking through slightly soapy water. I got it because I wanted to draw and produce graphic work, yet I find it difficult to actually see what I'm doing.
Also, I tried multiple times to calibrate the tablet pen, but the end results are never quite what I want from it.
The fingerprint reader is sort of meaningless to me because if I don't swipe my finger at the exact same speed or really concentrate on the swipe, it will misread it and waste my time.
The green mouse dot (as I've named it since I don't know the real term) - well, it takes some time to get used to it. Sometimes it doesn't react to any movements or it drags back to a spot after I've touched it. It's a temperamental little thing.
Oh, and I noticed that the two hard drives I have do not add up to the complete 120 GBs. Which made me go, "Huh?" Where's the rest at?
Anyway, I am getting used to the light little Lifebook. It's very portable and runs all my programs without faltering.

Should be better
Date:June 4, 2009
Pros: Battery Life, Weight
Cons: fan noise, low volume sound
The fan noise is loud and sounds like a jet engine when it fires up every few minutes. This seems to be a design issue that current owners are complaining about all over the internet which makes this tablet PC useless in meetings.

Needs a touchpad
Date:March 20, 2009
Pros: Battery Life, Screen Size, Weight
Cons: no touchpad
Everything is great on this model except for the pointing stick. This model would be unbeatable with a touchpad. A pointing stick is too difficult to use and makes the machine difficult to use. I ended up using a bluetooth mouse
Thanks a million to the team at Fujitsu Computer Systems for designing and building high quality and reliable Notebooks, Laptops and Tablets. I work as a network administrator as I have used all makes and models of laptops, but nothing makes my day easier than a Fujitsu (or a Fujitsu-Siemens) laptop / notebook. The North American customer service and support is excellent with hardly any waiting time. Fujitsu products offer reliable performance year after year.
My first (personal) laptop was a Fujitsu-Siemens which I got back in 2001, is still working to-date. It was a real good investment, with a return of over 1000 times on the initial value.
I purchased this unit as an upgrade for my current laptop the T2010. I decided to upgrade to the 1.4Ghz processor with 2GB of ram and 2GB of Turbo Memory. It was worth it. They new screen latch is a great addition. With the T2010 the screen would always slide and take me out of tablet mode while wiriting. I am very pleased with this unit. You won't find many cons as long as you build it correctly. The outdoor screen is a must along with the extended battery.

First Fujitsu Tablet PC, never going back!
Date:January 6, 2009
Pros: Battery Life, Weight
Cons: non latching screen
I purchased the T2020 towards the end of November and I must say I love it. The first thing that really jumps out at me is how much battery life I can get out of a single charge with moderate usage, 10-12 hours! This is of course using the higher capacity battery and a solid state drive but still from something so small it keeps going. The 1.4GHz low voltage, dual core processor delivers more than enough power for most applications and with 4GB of DDR3 RAM it can take quite a few applications on at the same time.
The pen response is amazing. I have been using the tablet for over a month and no need to calibrate yet.
64-bit Vista support is lacking at the time of this writing but if you are willing to put the time trying different drivers you can get a 100% working 64-bit system.
Overall a great product and if you are looking for either a new tablet pc or your first go with a Fujitsu!
