Facts:
Windows starts in 10 seconds…
My first Fujitsu Notebook
My first tablet computer
My first Windows 7 experience ever
My first SSD experience on performance expectation
Six months of research (oh yes, without having physical feel) and a month of ownership; comfortable timeframe to write multi-thought review on T4310. Bottom line; the reality REALLY mat perception. Simplicity and higher end performance among competition makes it proud to owe this monster though it’s a entry level student or home user tablet. Let’s see what I saw and highly impressed with…
Design and Built: Solid built (rugged) quality since it’s made in and shipped from Japan. It’s not a Netbook without optical drive but is a wise compromise between thickness (size) and performance compared to bulky 15” or 16” laptops (Why wise? Because it carries multipurpose drive for extra battery and storage). However it’s not a bulky though at all.
Keyboard: Full size clean keyboard with reasonable number of assigned Function keys ONLY. Not every key has assigned additional function like other school boy tablet. Looks and feel business class tablet keyboard. 12” mate screen easy to work even in sunlight.
Screen: High resolution matte screen delivered superior experience using Google maps in an out-side daylight. Easy to read and browse nytimes.com in sunlight.
Speakers: I was curious to write review on speaker performance. It was a higher speculation about speaker performance between the time I ordered and writing this review. Definitely you won’t regrate speker performance while enjoying movies/videos/games on your lap even with max volume. For added multimedia pleasure I carry Creative Lab’s pocket USB sound card. Again no room for regrets on speaker performance, only smile…
Processor: Being an advance tech-savy I tested T4310 running multiple apps together like a normal desktop for multitasking and achieved projected results for speed vs. time on performance. Again T series Intel chip are capable of multitasking than P series since P series uses less power. I put 256 GB SSD for extreme faster performance and a clean installation of Windows 7 Professional. It rocks.
Heat and Noise: ONLY normal heat as we expect and extremely silent machine running on SSD.
Touch screen and UI: Here is the deal; I browsed internet on T4310 in tablet mode and on iPad simultaneously to feel UI experience. Mat expectation on Windows based machine compare to competition on touch interface either pen or hand. Similar to iPad and UI experience while web browsing on a tablet mode with extra miles that iPad can’t deliver. Use of pen on office one note was astonishing experience and easy to used to within few hours. What I found? It’s a full featured iPad on your table.
Software: First preconfigured laptop I’ve seen in past seven years with no bloat ware installed. However I was least concerned because I planned to install SSD and vanilla installation of Windows 7 Professional to achieve desktop performance at extra bucks.
Overall T4310 remain a wise choice among other considerations satisfying my performance requirements for day to day usage.
Conclusion: a reality… Windows shuts down in 8 seconds…
No need to say highly recommended before it discontinued…
Thanks for your time.

My first Tablet PC
Date: March 26, 2010
Pros: Design, Battery Life, Weight, Security
Cons: Screen Size
I did not know what to expect except that I was sure I needed a tablet. This one functioned greatly. A few irritations, but will not stop me from replacing my stolen tablet. First, the tethered stylus is just irksome. I'd much prefer it had a holder that was more accessible, like on the screen rather than in the base. Second, the screen resolution itself is not all that great, especially when you're coming from high definition screens on other machines. The active digitizer is nice. It gets old quickly on some apps, but then you discover new uses for it and it becomes cool again. I would also like a little more memory capacity and a larger hard drive option. The final thing that truly did bother me was that I could never seem to get the stylus to always activate at the edges of the screen. So,m for example, task bar icons were difficult or impossible to activate by stylus and I had to resort to a finger/mouse action. It would be nice also if the buttons on the monitor were lit when the screen was opened.

One of the best tablets available
Date: February 4, 2010
Pros: Design, Battery Life, Screen Size, Keyboard, Features, Security
Cons: Weight
This is my first tablet and as such I did extensive research before I picked one to buy. This laptop had many more features and a larger battery than many competing tablets. It also has a normal processor, not some weak thing so it is able to run Solidworks and the like without a hitch. This laptop is also a great bargain - comes with 4 gigabytes of ddr3 and a nice big hard drive, multitouch screen, etc for a pretty low price when compared to competitors' offerings. The modular bay makes up for this laptops extra girth as I can now stick an extra battery in there for a full day of battery life. Most other tablets either use a weak processor to achieve those times or contain a battery which protrudes out the back. This laptop does neither.
The only thing I would redo about this laptop is the default software install. Luckily, if one is tech savvy this is an easy fix. I myself installed an ssd and put a fresh version of windows 7 ultimate on. Alot of the software fujitsu sticks on the laptop is unnecessary and I find the windows defaults to work better for somethings - eg the fingerprint reader.
All in all this is a win for Fujitsu; I am definitely making them my first stop when I look to get a new laptop in a few years.

Better than my last notebook

Much better than my last Fujitsu notebook. Boots much faster, better wireless connection, sturdy, and easy to use. Still a little bulky and heavy. love the touch screen. Still getting used to the smaller screen. Overall great value.

Great Laptop!
Date: January 18, 2010
Pros: Design, Battery Life, Screen Size, Durability, Keyboard, Features
Cons: Weight
This is my 3rd Fujitsu laptop, I love them all! This one is a big thick, but that is only compared to my old P7120D...
I am new to tablets, but this one is also a touch screen that works with your fingers, so it reminds me of my iPhone
It could use a better hard drive, it currently comes with a 5400 RPM SATA hard drive. But then again what laptop doesn't? That also adds to battery life. After some time passes however, I will upgrade to SSD MTron!
I can't wait to get the modular hard drive, place the stock hard drive in there, and use the SSD as my main hard drive.
Otherwise, the laptop has all the features that you would want, bluetooth, wifi bgn, dual-layer dvd, small enough, yet powerful. Great keyboard, not too crazy about the touch pad though, but withbluetooth, I use my mouse!

Great Value for the price

The 4310 is a great value for the price. Nothing out there compares to what you get with this tablet currently. Great for the student, artist or heavy note taker.

Another great laptop
Date: December 7, 2009
Pros: Screen Size, Durability, Weight
After owning a problem free P5010D for many years, I decide it was time for an upgrade. I chose the T4310 and love the ability to either type or touch to input information. I will always be a lifelong Fujitsu customer!

At last a Fujitsu that I could afford. So far everything works just fine. I'm using photoshop and playing movies. Takes a bit of time to get used to touch input. Overall I have a good impression of the unit.

The Affordable WOW Factor!
Date: November 22, 2009
Pros: Design, Battery Life, Durability, Features, Security
Cons: Weight
I have been using this tablet PC for just 3 days now. TheMulti touch-screen is like having a digital notepad built in! It's screen rotates like the iphone and you can increase or decrease the page view with your fingers too. Windows 7 is... so far, so good, better than Vista anyway! This is more compact than a typical laptop, bigger than a netbook, but has the DVD feature! I will add more when I learn more, but for the price it is a top notch portable, specialty computer system. More memory and storage than average too. Fujitsu needs to become more avilable out there! I only found it by chance with a search term of 'netbook with DVD'! Overnight shipping and delivery with FedEx from Japan, great customer service too!
Overall I wish I had known of Fujitsu years ago!
