Fujitsu T900 Review: Wonderful!
Date: July 6, 2010
Pros: Design, Security, Durability, Battery Life, Features, Keyboard, Screen Size, pen garage and tether, screen readability
Cons: Weight
After using a Lenovo tablet for a while, I finally decided to purchase my own tablet computer. I did the research and got a T900. I got it out of the boxes, charged it, and READ THE USER MANUAL. Note: This is a Windows 7 32 bit OS with
I upgraded to the I7 processor and and 7200 RPM harddrive. I did not get the touch screen.
I did not upgrade the memory, so standard 4 GB.
This system is stunning compared to the old Lenovo. The 13+" screen is perfect, nice and big.
I am using the computer mainly for Onenote and doing mathematics on it, and it is awesome. The writing is instantaneous, lassoing graphics and shrinking, growing, and moving them is instantaneous...Now that's what I'm talking about.
There is no bloatware ON THIS COMPUTER.
If you read the USER GUIDE first, and correctly calibrate the screen and set up the orientation, it is very, very nice to write on. Text recognition isn't too bad, and I love the pressure sensitive pen.
The LED screen is remarkable, and readable in broad daylight. I LOVE using this tablet.
Yes, the orientation does do that wierd thing when you rotate the screen. It appears to be in landscape mode, but shifts over to portait. I just touch the orientation button and it comes back for the rest of the session. I can live with that.
You do have to calibrate some applications if you change orientation, but that is the case with ALL tablets.
Also, I had to set the orientation so that my hand wasn't over the scroll sensor or the function keys on the "bottom" of the screen when in tablet mode. if I orient so these things are at the top, it works perfectly.
It is exactly what I wanted. Totally Paperless math, and it's smooth and easy and fast.
I also love ability to set security codes in the tablet function keys.
Someone complained about the pen. Having to turn the pen to a particular orientation to get it out of the computer is a GOOD thing. The pen is more secure, and I like that. I also added the optional tether, which is very nice.
Good job, Fujitsu!

Love it.
Date: June 25, 2010
Configured with SSD (128), i5, 4 gigs RAM and Windows 7. Light enough, powerful enough with good enough battery life to carry around and use for everything. I probably could replace three desktops I use at work and home with this if I wanted. SSD helpful if you plan to move around while using -- otherwise motion HD protection software is going to keep locking and unlocking the HD.
Handwriting rec on Windows 7 actually works.
Only con is it's pricey.

Good solid unit - would definitely recommend!
Date: June 17, 2010
Pros: Screen Size
Cons: Weight
I moved from a Toshiba Portege 3505 tablet to the T900 and am pretty happy with it. I really like the larger, higher rez screen and the 'daylight readable' feature is great; I can sit outdoors in the shade and clearly see the screen against a bright background! This feature and a Core-i7 were the main reasons I chose this tablet.
While this unit is about the same size (a bit thicker), it is a definitely heavier than my previous unit - which is a drag when lugging it around.
Things I don't like: the power supply cables are thick and stiff, the pen is difficult to remove from the unit (must be rotated to 'just the right angle'), must hold 'fn' key to access 'home' and 'end' keys, cooling fan runs a lot. Also, buy a 3rd party 'Auto/Air' adapter as the Fujitsu unit is ENORMOUS and the connectors are just unwieldly.
I mostly use this unit for embedded system development (hardware & software) and performance is really quite good - even SolidWorks 2010 runs surprisingly well.
So far, I'm really happy that I purchased this unit.

The software image is an embarassment!
Date: May 28, 2010
Cons: Features
While the hardware seems good, the software image is garbage. The computer is loaded with so much BLOATWARE and SPYWARE that the computer took more than an hour to boot up the first time.
Best of all, it says on the website that I was supposed to get the Windows 7 Professional media DVD.
No such luck. When I called Fujitsu, they said that you can make a back up of Windows 7 from their partition on the hard drive.
In other words, you are unable to get a copy of Windows 7 as they advertised the product on the website. The only thing you can do is burn a copy of THEIR version of Windows 7 loaded with BLOATWARE.
The best part of the computer is that is is covered in stickers.I peeled seven off of the keyboard base and then there is this gigantic anti-theft sticker on the outside cover. Is a thief going to remove the theft sticker? Does the sticker some how deter theft? While the hardware looks beautiful, it looks like a Porshe that was covered in bumper stickers.

Best Purchase Ever
Date: May 16, 2010
Pros: Design, Battery Life, Durability, Weight, Keyboard, Features, Security
Cons: Screen Size, fan noise
I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. It does everything I expected and performs like a desktop. The fan is a little noisy, but hey, it's running an i7 M CPU!

Powerful Tablet PC
Date: April 18, 2010
Pros: Screen Size, Durability, Keyboard, screen quality, wacom digitizer
Cons: Battery Life, Weight, weak speakers
I bought the T900 as a secondary computer for drawing, and so far, so good. The screen quality and viewing angles are great. It does feel a little heavy on the lap, and it does put out some heat, but it's not intolerable.
With the default battery under normal use, I get around 2 hours. Not great battery life, but I usually run it on AC power.
I wish I'd gotten the touch screen option, though. The indoor-outdoor screen is glossy - I thought it was matte, but that can be fixed with a screen protector.
The Wacom pressure sensitivity didn't work at first, but uninstalling and reinstalling the pen driver fixed that. Also the speakers are rather weak, but it sounds good through headphones. The Windows startup sound is stuttery - this may be due to a driver loading. But after startup, it sounds good.
I wouldn't get it for 3D graphics work, but 2D programs like ArtRage and Painter 11 work well. Painter is actually faster on the T900 than on my desktop PC (Core2Duo 2.4 GHz, 6 GB RAM).
Overall, this is a good computer for portable 2D graphics work, which is why I got it. If Fujitsu could create a thinner, lighter tablet PC with this amount of power, it would be perfect.

Our team is thrilled
Date: April 1, 2010
Pros: Design, Battery Life, Screen Size, Durability, Keyboard, Features
Cons: price
We purchased for our sales and service team - everybody is thrilled with the performance, with the touch screen functionality, with the battery life (using the modular bay battery) and with the service (one came with a dead speaker - replaced the next day!) This is my third Fujitsu and it is as solid and reliable as my others. The performance of the T900 is superb. The company backs its products. A great experience.

Good Investment ~ Excellent Challenge To Obtain
Date: March 26, 2010
Pros: Design, Battery Life, Screen Size, Durability, Weight, Keyboard, Features, Security, supply curve, haha...demand
Cons: no computers in the pentitentiary...lack of q.a.
System as an info storage/retreival system positioned at the 1st of 5 segements of a four link Wholesale, Retail, Franchise, Outlet supply chain is top notch with no products rivalling it, period.
Not for your average Joe, and not hardly for your average Pro either unless you have alot of seraching, shopping, documenting, and buying time on your hands....fortunately your 'elbow-greasing' your way to a short setup time, completely error free run time of as long as it take red and black diamonds to decompose, and a good start on to 2nd through 5th phases of business operational management with the big boys.
