Best Tablet PC out there in the market.
Date:August 7, 2011
Pros: Weight, Design, Security, Durability, Battery Life, Features, Keyboard, Screen Size, video card, hdmi, optical drive, dust filter, bonus microcloth
HDMI and Video Card to boot! Other makers just don't have the sort of configuration, and if they do, they miss these options. Not even the Panasonic Toughbook or Lenovo Thinkpad offers these options, and if they do offer all the options such as bluetooth, or optical drive, they do for an extra charge. With the configurations offered by Fujitsu, they come as a standard, and at various screen sizes. Other makers just don't offer the screen retail area, or these options, only Fujitsu comes through these department. Highly recommended the video card configuration.

Best Fujitsu Tablet
Date:August 6, 2011
Pros: Weight, Design, Security, Durability, Battery Life, Features, Keyboard, Screen Size
This is my 5th Fujitsu and 4th tablet. The T901 is a big improvement over the previous, already great, lineup of Fujitus tablets. All the best buttons and functions are retained from the previous tablet line and there are so many features it's hard to name the best. An interesting feature is the Scroll Sensor at the bottom left of the screen frame that allows you to pan left and right.
The touch features are awesome. Make navigating Google Maps fun. Just like a touch phone.
The I/O options are up-to-date too.
Be sure to get the modular bay battery for many extra hours mobile use.

bought 1 life book and was so impressed I bought a second one less than 4 days later. Very Very good machine for the money, and takes "PADS" to a real working level, not a toy.

Lifebook T901
Date:July 11, 2011
Pros: Weight, Design, Durability, Features, Keyboard
Cons: Screen Size
Fujitsu did a very nice job with the changes to the layout of this tablet. The old LifeBook had a small LCD screen indicating battery life and num lock, cap lock, etc status which was difficult to read without back lighting. They removed this and went back to the traditional light indicators, which is much more convenient. They moved the stylus from the side of the display panel to hidden inside the base. This is aesthetically better and also gives you nearly an inch more in screen width. The addition of the webcam is nice for video conferencing.
There are plenty of options for the average user to the power user. This tablet has an incredible amount of performance and storage for a portable device. Despite its compact size, there is still room for a Blu-Ray or DVD-R. I wish they had a tablet with a 14" or 15" screen option because I wouldn't mind the extra weight. However, the 13" screen isn't bad.
Fujitsu's tablets are on the pricier end, but are definitely the most well made tablets. If you are looking for a compact laptop with the versatility of converting to a tablet, Fujitsu is the way to go.

Awesome Computer
Date:December 15, 2011
Pros: Weight, Design, Security, Durability, Battery Life, Features, Keyboard, Screen Size
I have had many computers over the years and they just keep getting better. This one is the best ever, I love it. I wanted a tablet with the touch screen but they don't the computing power I need. This one has all the latest technologies available.
I've always hated the short battery life between charges on my laptops but this one is the best in that area I have ever seen.

Love my Lifebok T901
Date:December 9, 2011
Pros: Design, Battery Life, Features, Screen Size
Cons: Weight
I had to return my new Dell XT3 after only a few weeks because the design was flawed. It uses N-TRIG rather than Wacom like my new Fujitsu. I did not know what I was missing. I love my T901 and the Wacom digitizer. It is so much smoother and more reliable than the N-TRIG. I have had no problems with it at all. I am a college professor who uses it daily to teach. I project using the T-901 with MS OneNote. So far, everything has been perfect. I did have a problem connecting to the projector at first and Fujitsu was so helpful and patient in helping me identify the problem. It turned out to be a problem with the configuration of our projectors and had nothing to do with the laptop. I am very happy! BTW....the battery life is very important to me and it has been excellent. I opted for the bay drive that allows me to put an extra battery in, but so far, I don't think I would have needed it. The battery recharges so fast. I love the bigger screen on this model as well.

Purchased primarily for work, it doubles as my play computer too. Works great in both notebook and tablet modes, seamless with windows programs. Screen size seems to be the perfect balance between viewability and size. Definitely one of my best purchases as far as computers go.

Great notebook
Date:November 6, 2011
Pros: Weight, Design, Durability, Features, Keyboard, Screen Size
Cons: Battery Life
The T901 is a great notebook. I have had it for almost a month now and I have not had an issue with it. It is super fast and the tablet feature works great.
I have Adobe's Creative Suite CS 5.5 installed and this laptop runs it with absolutely no issue. I use it for illustrative purposes and even with the largest brush sizes the lag is only minimal. The ability to calibrate the stylus and turn off multi-touch(finger touching) makes it perfect for doing conceptual work. You will not beat a fully built desktop with a real Wacom tablet but, if mobility is what you are looking for, this is as close as you will get. For those interested, this unit does have a Wacom tablet built into the screen and uses the same Wacom software as my girlfriends Intuous 3. Meaning, you will have all of the same features and settings with just a little less sensitivity.
The laptop goes above and beyond with features and I admire the ergonomics. The outside is sleek, yet rugged. The inside is all business with a somewhat bland keyboard for what laptops carry nowadays. However, this keyboard is what makes the laptop feel at home in any work environment. The newer laptops have stylish keys that are often times very thin and as smooth as glass, some even have back lit keyboards. This may be preferable to some but, the first time my cat jumped onto the keyboard of my XPS 16 the destruction as he slid off with his claws out was instant. This unit has larger, more solid keys with a smooth texture that has all of the features to get the job done and none that will get in the way or wont be used. The T901 is absolutely function over form. As for the strength of the keys, I cringed when my rottweiler jumped up on the couch full of excitement and landed his paw square in my lap right on top of my brand new notebook. The T901 didn't even notice. When I pushed him off there wasn't so much as a disconnected key. When you have animals, that durability goes a long way, even if you are just friends with someone with animals.
The only negative thing I can think of with the laptop is the short battery life but, this is as to be expected with Photoshop and I didn't go for the extended battery. The real negative though is the underpowered charger it comes with that takes, comparatively with my three other laptops, ages to charge a relatively medium sized battery.
However, in the grand scheme of things, and versus other tablet PC's, I will take that any day of the week over the larger issues that the Lenovos have been having. The price isn't spectacular for the T901 but once you pay for it, you won't have to worry about it. I can respect that.
Also, if you are worried about customer support as I was, don't be. I called the customer support line because I couldn't find the key for Microsoft Office that came on the computer, halfway through waiting on hold I found it and hung up. Low and behold, I get a call back from a live representative, with perfect English might I add, saying he noticed that I called technical support and was wondering if I had resolved my issue! He wasn't even trying to rush me off the phone either. I have NEVER had that kind of support, even with Dell. I told him that I had found what I was looking for but he gave me a confirmation number and wrote out a ticket for me just in case so if I called back I wouldn't have to wait again, they would know who I was and what my problem was.
Overall, I am very impressed with not only the laptop but also Fujitsu as a company. This being my first Fujitsu, further down the road when tablet PC's get even better, I will be purchasing from them again if they continue to make the same quality product.

Cons: Weight, the laptop runs hot.
I have bought two refurbished Fujitsu tablet PC's and I would NEVER buy anything else. They are the perfect laptop for someone like me who uses Photoshop and browses the web.
I first purchased a T4220 and I still use it two years later with no issues. The only thing I have bought for it was a new battery. After two years, it finally lost it's ability to hold a charge.
The only thing I didn't like about it was that it runs really hot. The newer model I bought (T900) runs much cooler.

I had a custom configured fujitsu T4410 which i planned keep forever...but last month it was time. Now i have the T901 custom configured. I like it a lot however, i am not so crazy about windows 7 business version. the computer itself is confortable to use. the only comparison that i think it needs some more work on the fingure scrolling. It does not compare to the ease of the IPad. I have a Lenovo Xseries tablet for work...not so crazy about it. hands down fujitsu provides a better design and product.

Have to at least try spite of knowing it will not make the cut.
Purchased a gigabyte touch screen computer year ago from amazon for $450-$550 depending on options. Amazon is not know for its cutting edged technology product but they do have very good prices for older computer sometimes. Gigabyte mission statement includes some sort of reference to the pursuit o excellence etc which they appear to follow. Go to gigabyte directly for a list of U.S. suppliers.

Still too new to tell
Date:September 8, 2011
Pros: Design, Security, Durability, Battery Life, Features, Screen Size
Cons: Weight, bloatware
So far, I love this computer, and the customer service experience was fantastic when I was trying to decide on a replacement for my Dell Inspiron 600m. It is so nice to deal with a company that actually cares about its customers. Unable to actually see and test this model at a retail outlet was a definite drawback until I phoned Fujitsu to find that customer service was able to send me a "stock" model to "test." After a couple of weeks with the test model, I bought one with most of the bells and whistles. A bit on the expensive side, but based on my earlier experience with Fujitsu (1997) I was sold.
The display is nice. I have not experienced the distracting reflection found on 95% of the new laptops, which was one of the issues at the top of my "want list." Yes, yes....power is important. But when you are looking at a screen for several hours a day, it must be comfortable.
The keyboard has a nice feel, but I'm not thrilled with the placement of some of the keys. I'm accustomed to the "END" key being in the upper right hand corner and as a frequent user, find it irritating having it in the lower right hand corner requiring the use of the function key as well. There is also a "scroll" pad next to the touch pad that causes some difficulty when the natural positioning of your fingers on the keyboard overlays the area causing the screen to scroll unexpectedly. Other than those two complaints, the keyboard is nice.
The overall look of the computer is a bit dated for some who are into the bright chrome look or the brassy black shine, but I like a "classic" look so it suits me well. I give the overall design 9 stars out of 10.
The battery life seems to be good. I get about 4 hours on a fully charged battery (low screen, power, etc.), but the system is still brand new. I am eager to see how the battery stands up over time.
The weight is a bit much to be hauling around. I'm used to my netbook. But durability is definitely the key here. My last Fujitsu was indestructible and this one appears to be the same.
I tried to order mine without the "Bloatware" but could not. It seems your going to get some software that you really don't want. Yes, yes....I know you can remove it, but better not to have it "junk up" the system in the first place.
On the technical side --- I purchased my system with the i7 processor, 500 gb drive, Windows 7, 32 bit with 4 gb ram. Didn't go with 64 bit due to some software conflicts that can not be resolved. The system is fast, boots fast! (yay!) and shuts down fast! I had some difficulty finding drivers for my older (2 years!) devices, but other than that, I've had no conflicts.
If this Fujitsu performs like my previous one, and if customer service remains as responsive as they were when I was making my decision, I'll be a Fujitsu customer for life!

I purchased the T901 to replace my Fujitsu T4220 which was reliable for 4 years until the fan started to sound like a an old diesel. When the T901 first arrived, the first thing I noticed was the wavy gap between the LCD and the bezel, which ranged between 0 and 1.5 mm. You could slide a dime into this gap in most places around the screen. Anyways, I was disappointed, but it was something I could live with.
I rely heavily on my laptop for study and clinical work, so you can imagine how frustrated I was when the LCD backlight on the T901 suddenly burnt out as I was reading my notes. I sent the T901 in to the nearest repair depot, and it is now 17 days since they've received it. Last status was "awaiting parts". I have had to call the repair depot to get them to actually START diagnosing it 7 days after it arrived on their end. I also had to call Fujitsu to get them to expedite the shipping of the parts that the repair depot was waiting for. Why should I have to facilitate the logistics of getting my laptop repaired? My time is precious, and I expect that a warranty repair will be straight forward and done in a timely fashion. At 17 days and counting, I would expect them to ship me a brand new laptop to minimize disruption to my work.
Is it fair to expect more from Fujitsu, especially for a $2100 laptop?

I would have to say that I am quite happy with my recent purchase. The only major problem I have noticed with my T901 concerns the USB 3.0 port for which either my PC or Windows 7 was not compatible with the USB 3.0 external hard drive that I had purchased. The USB 3.0 would only recognize my device on occasion. Actually, the device was not detected more often than it was detected. Furthermore, when the device was detected, I would always receive the Windows notification bubble stating the my external device was not functioning at its maximal capacity. As I was unable to solve the issue after speaking with Fujitsu technical support, deleting and re-installing drivers, installing upgraded or recommended drivers, and completely reformatting the computer, I finally decided to send back my external hard drive. I am currently waiting on a new external hard drive and hopefully I will not encounter the same problem.
The PC is physically unstable when I convert it to Tablet mode as the alternating latch on the screen side of the laptop does not properly secure to keyboard side of the T901. Thus, the screen often releases when I am using the computer in Tablet mode and this can get quite annoying. However, I am sure I will have no problems with this once I bring my computer into an authorized Fujitsu service dealer. Keeping with the theme of the physical stability of the laptop, I find that the battery and optical drive are not completely secure, and by secure I mean non-movable. For instance, when I pick up my computer to transport it, I feel the battery and optical drive moving upwards as a result of the pressure placed on these items put by my fingers.
It is unfortunate, but I believe my unsatisfactory experience with the Fujitsu Sales Department and Customer Support has certainly tainted my ability to see speak highly of my T901, as I tend to focus on what is not functioning as it should, and not on what I like about the computer. This being said, I must say that I am absolutely impressed with the amount of performance I am able to get out of such a portable device, and this, without having to sacrifice incredible amounts of battery life. Being a previous owner of a Lifebook N6460, I went from having one of the heaviest laptops on the market with only approximately 20 minutes of battery life to now owning a higher performance, ultra-portable, and light tablet PC with over 6 hours of battery life. I opted for the SSD drive only because I wanted to purchase the newest available technologies as I plan to use this computer for the next couple of years. But to tell you the truth, though it may transfer data quicker, be lighter, and have immovable parts (i.e. no spinning components), I have not noticed a remarkable difference from other PCs without SDD and thus I am not so sure if it is worth all the extra money. In fact, I would much prefer the spinning sound to the annoying click sound I hear every once in a while with my computer (I imagine when the disk is accessed).

The Only Choice
Date:August 3, 2011
Pros: Design, Battery Life, Features, Screen Size, pressure sensitivity in photoshop
Cons: cost
I titled this "The Only Choice" because that is really what it was for me.
For four years I have been waiting for a tablet convertible laptop to replace my Asus R1F. I am a photographer/designer and I use the wacom pressure sensitivity in photoshop every day. What I needed in a new laptop was the following:
1. Enough power to run photoshop, illustrator, and a web browser simultaneously without choking.
2. Actual pressure sensitivity in photoshop (none of the other "penabled" tablets do that).
3. A dedicated graphics card for 3d features in photoshop (and to play games)
4. A screen larger than 12.1 inches
Until the nvidia card option for the T901 came out, I could only find 2 of the four on any given system. Maaaybe 3 if you were willing to put up with a 'touch' screen instead of a pen input.
So after a month of use, I have to say that I am very pleased with the physical features and layout of the T901. I removed or disabled most of the extra services installed initially, however. It runs smoothly and is a real champ at processing and graphics compared to my old laptop.
There are also some cool little extras like the fingerprint scanner also functioning as a page-scrolling input and the dedicated scroll-circle next to the track-pad.
My biggest issue was with the cost. I spent approx. 50% more on this laptop than comparable hardware from almost any other manufacturer (not counting apple). I even bought the lowest end stock ram and hard-drive options so I could buy and upgrade those myself at literally half the cost.
I would still recommend this model to any artist who needs to have pressure sensitivity in for-realsies art programs like Photoshop, Painter, etc. But you'd better have some deep pockets.
